Making My Way Downtown
I'm always on the lookout for new sustainable designers and brands and it's so encouraging to see new ones pop up all the time. So when I was contacted to work with Positive Luxury, I was more than happy to accept as it gives me the chance to discover some amazing new brands that are dedicated to sustainable and ethical production. Positive Luxury is a UK based retailer that awards a Butterfly Mark to luxury brands that meet a certain standard of sustainability, so you can trust that the products you are purchasing come from legitimately responsible companies. Their methodology covers five main areas when assessing a brand: Governance, Social Framework, Environmental Framework, Philanthropy, Innovation. The first one I've collaborated with is Dagny London, a womenswear company whose ultimate vision is a circular model of production. Not only are their garments beautiful and classically feminine, they are dedicated to minimizing their impact. They create stunning patterns and unique silhouettes, pieces that you can wear in a variety of ways for years to come. This pink dress alone has already gotten so many compliments and I have found ways to dress it up or down depending on the day.
