Peppy in Peplum

We flew into San Francisco on Thursday, immediately embarking on the traffic-laden journey to Napa in an effort to see some of the area before our dinner reservation. We eventually made it through the traffic and up through the valley to Auberge du Soleil, where simply stopped to have a drink and take in the lovely scenery. We'd hoped to explore more of the property but much of it was blocked off for a wedding (a very common sight in Napa, to be sure).

So we headed to Solage, where I'd made a reservation for Solbar, a popular Michelin-rated restaurant in the area. The property at Solage was gorgeous and we were seated outside under a grove of trees lined with lights that sparkled in the evening dusk. The food was fresh and unique, like my chicken with peppers and figs, and the Chenin Blanc I'd finally decided on after trying a few different wines was pleasantly crisp. They even brought me a little candle and a happy birthday chocolate with my chocolate-raspberry dessert.  It was a wonderful introduction to Napa and we drove back to check into our Marriott feeling entirely satisfied.

I was dressed comfortably for my almost six hour flight from JFK in this new peplum top from Club Monaco that I adore. It's super comfortable sweater material but has enough of a fun design with the peplum detail. Easily dressed down with some jeans for comfort, but just easily dressed up with a pair of chic slacks and a nice necklace. I also wore my new pair of burgundy boots, sure to be a staple piece this fall. The burgundy color adds a unique pop to an outfit and the side cutout details make the booties edgy and also breathable for that in-between weather.
